"Good Afternoon and thank you for joining us this afternoon at this very special occasion. For almost seventy-five years, this human relations organization has stood the test of time and we are proud to continue that tradition as the Chicago Center for Cultural Connections. On behalf of Connections, I would like to extend our congratulations to our honorees this afternoon and applaud them for their leadership. It is a privilege to recognize such individuals and organizations and to pay tribute to them here today. In particular I want to congratulate Dr. Alvin Poussaint for his extraordinary contribution he has made in race relations, initiatives of non-violence and parenting education and we are honored to have him here."
"I also want to thank Boeing for their extraordinary support of the luncheon as Sponsor as well as to the Table Sponsors and individual contributors. I want to particularly thank my Board Chair Michael Hayes from Bell Boyd and Lloyd, for his leadership. And I want to thank and recognize my Board, in particular, Joyce Tucker, Paul Maddock and Bill Campbell. Since its inception, Connections, has remained true to its mission. Connections has always stood for promoting common ground; resolving conflict; and is a proponent of non-violence and peace."
