"For almost seventy-five years, this human relations organization has stood the test of time and we are proud to continue that tradition as the Chicago Center for Cultural Connections. On behalf of Connections, I would like to extend our congratulations to Archbishop Tutu and applaud him for his extraordinary leadership. It is a privilege to be with him in this room and to recognize such a man of God and a messenger for peace and justice as we pay tribute to him. Particularly, I want to thank Archbishop Tutu for his extraordinary contributions in race relations, non-violence, promoting common ground, reconciliation and in human rights.
